House Panel Adds $146 Million for 8 United Technologies Choppers

The House panel responsible for defense expenditures plans to approve a $98.3 billion weapons request for fiscal 2014 that adds money for Blackhawk helicopters made by United Technologies Corp. (UTX) and Patriot missile interceptors from Lockheed Martin Corp. (LMT)

The additions to the Pentagon’s budget request are contained in the House Appropriations defense subcommittee’s draft report posted on its website today. The full appropriations committee will meet tomorrow to approve the weapons request that’s part of a $512 billion annual defense budget plan.
