The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation is investigating the incident in which two agents were killed during a training exercise off of the Virginia coast. Photograper: Chip Somodevilla/Getty Images

Two U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation agents were killed during a training exercise off the Virginia Beach, Virginia coast, a spokeswoman said.

The FBI is investigating the incident, which occurred May 17, spokeswoman Vanessa Torres said today in an interview. The names of the agents have not been released, she said.

The deaths were reported earlier by the Associated Press.
