American States Water Profit Increases 33%, Helped by Rates

American States Water Co., a California-based water service and electricity provider, reported first-quarter profit climbed 33 percent to $13.5 million from a year earlier, helped by higher tariffs.

Operating revenue rose 3.4 percent to $110.6 million, the San Dimas-based utility said today in a statement. American States Water is the parent of Golden State Water Co. and American States Utility Services Inc. Its shares have increased 51 percent over the past year.
