Chaudhry Zulfiqar, Pakistan's special prosecutor on the case of assassination of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto, was shot dead today.

The chief prosecutor with Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency, Chaudhry Zulfiqar, was shot dead as he left his home in Islamabad early today, the Geo television channel reported.

Geo said Zulfiqar was leading probes into former army chief Pervez Musharraf for failing to provide adequate security before the killing of ex-prime minister Benazir Bhutto, and the 2008 terrorist attack on Mumbai, without saying where it got the information.
