Rumford Wins Golf’s Ballantine’s Championship With Playoff Eagle

Australia’s Brett Rumford scored an eagle three on the first hole of a three-way playoff to win golf’s Ballantine’s Championship in South Korea today.

Rumford had blown a two-stroke lead with two holes left, finishing level in regulation play with Marcus Fraser of Australia and Scotland’s Peter Whiteford on 11-under 277 in Seoul.

It was Rumford’s fourth win on the European Tour and he picked up a check for 367,500 euros ($478,000).
