Chelsea Nears $70 Million Falcao Signing, Mail Says: Roundup

Chelsea believes it is close to signing Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao for 46 million pounds ($70.2 million), the Daily Mail reported.

The London club has rejected the chance to hire Napoli’s Edinson Cavani to pursue Falcao, the Mail said.

Cavani Negotiations

Cavani could move to Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain or Real Madrid, the Daily Mail said.

The Uruguayan striker has agreed personal terms “in principle” with City and PSG but would prefer to go to Real, according to the Mail.

Napoli wants 60 million pounds to trade Cavani, the newspaper added.

Benitez to Monaco

Monaco wants to hire Chelsea interim manager Rafael Benitez, the Sun reported.

Benitez is waiting to see if a job becomes available at Manchester City, Tottenham or Real Madrid before deciding whether to join Russian billionaire Dmitriy Rybolovlev’s team, according to the Sun.

Sporting Teenager

Manchester United is considering a 3 million-pound bid for 18-year-old Sporting Lisbon forward Bruma, the Daily Mirror reported.

United coach Alex Ferguson has had “glowing reports” about the teenager, who is also a target for Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Manchester City, according to the Mirror.
