Foxconn to Make Solar Panels for SunEdison in Mexico

A unit of Foxconn Technology Group, the Taipei-based maker of products including Apple Inc. (AAPL)’s iPhone, agreed to make solar panels for MEMC Electronic Materials Inc. (WFR)’s SunEdison unit in Mexico.

Foxconn’s Fox Energy will manufacture as much as 350 megawatts of solar panels for MEMC at a Juarez plant, St. Peters, Missouri-based MEMC said today in a statement.

SunEdison has developed 989 megawatts of solar farms and has 2.6 gigawatts of projects under development, according to the statement. MEMC is the biggest U.S. maker of polysilicon after Hemlock Semiconductor Corp.
