Itron to Modernize Water-Meter Infrastructure for Spain Utility

Itron Inc. (ITRI), the biggest U.S. maker of meters that reduce waste and energy use, said a Spanish water utility serving 3.5 million residents selected the company to modernize its water-metering infrastructure.

Terms weren’t disclosed by Liberty Lake, Washington-based Itron in today’s statement for the five-year deal that includes installing 100,000 water meters with Aguas de Valencia, which operates mainly in Valencia, Catalonia and northern Spain.
