Capital One Financial Corp. (COF), the lender that gets more than half its revenue from credit cards, gave Chief Executive Officer Richard Fairbank about $17.5 million in compensation for 2012, according to the firm.
Fairbank received $10.9 million in stock and $4.38 million in options, the McLean, Virginia-based company said in a filing today. Fairbank, who doesn’t draw a salary, also received a $2.19 million cash bonus, the filing said.
Under guidelines from securities regulators, which calculate pay differently, Fairbank earned $22.6 million.
