Barclays’s China Chairman Qiu Retires After Three Years at Bank

Qiu Zhi Zhong, chairman of greater China at Barclays Plc (BARC)’s investment banking unit, has retired after spending more than three years at the U.K.’s second- largest bank, according to a memo obtained by Bloomberg News.

Qiu, also vice chairman of Asia, retired March 1, according to the memo. Angie Tang, a Hong Kong-based spokeswoman for Barclays, confirmed the contents of the document. Qiu joined the firm in 2009 from ABN Amro Holding NV, where he worked for three years. The memo didn’t mention a replacement.
