Narisawa in Tokyo Tops List of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants
Chef Yoshihiro Narisawa’s Tokyo establishment Narisawa took the top spot in the inaugural list of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants, announced in Singapore.
The World’s 50 Best Asia is published by the World’s 50 Best Restaurants awards. Nihonryori RyuGin, Tokyo, came second, followed by Nahm, Bangkok in third place; Amber, Hong Kong, in fourth; and Restaurant Andre, Singapore in fifth.
Paul Pairet of Ultraviolet and Mr & Mrs Bund in Shanghai won the lifetime achievement award. Duongporn “Bo” Songvisava, of Bo.lan, in Bangkok, was named Asia’s best female chef and Jaan restaurant in Singapore was named one to watch.
The 50 Best list follows the publication last month of the Miele Guide’s Top 20 restaurants in Asia. The top five in that list were Robuchon au Dome, Macau; Waku Ghin, Singapore; L’Atelier, Hong Kong; Iggy’s, Singapore; and Mozaic, Bali.
