Barcelona Beats Sevilla 2-1 as Lionel Messi Extends Scoring Run

Barcelona came from beheind to beat Sevilla 2-1 as Lionel Messi scored in his record-extending 15th consecutive game in Spanish soccer’s La Liga.

Alberto Botia gave Sevilla the lead just before halftime at the Nou Camp stadium in Barcelona. David Villa tied the game in the 51st minute and Messi scored his 38th league goal, and 49th in total, eight minutes later to make it 2-1.

The win gives Barcelona 68 points on the season, 15 points more than second-place Atletico Madrid, which plays Espanyol tomorrow. Real Madrid beat Deportivo La Coruna 2-1 to remain third with 52 points.
