New Zealand’s government has found no traces of an agricultural chemical in products made from local milk since mid-November.
An analysis of about 2,000 samples from all the major New Zealand dairy companies showed the last product to have a trace of the fertilizer additive dicyandiamide, known as DCD, was made on Nov. 12, the Ministry for Primary Industries said in a statement on its website.
Detections of DCD in products made prior to mid-November were at levels were significantly below the European Commission’s daily intake thresholds and there remains no food safety risk, the ministry said.
