Jamaican GDP Fell 0.6% in Fourth Quarter Due to Hurricane

Jamaica’s economy shrank 0.6 percent in the fourth quarter from the same period last year, the Finance Ministry’s planning agency said.
Damage from Hurricane Sandy and “slower than anticipated recovery” in the global economy caused the contraction, marking a full-year the Caribbean island has experienced no growth, the agency said today on its website.
