French Family Kidnapped in Cameroon Is Released, Le Monde Says

A French family of seven taken hostage two days ago in Cameroon has been found in northern Nigeria, Le Monde reported citing Cameroon’s military and a French ministerial official.

The hostages are healthy and safe and in the hands of the Nigerian authorities, Le Monde quoted a senior Cameroon military officer as saying.

The French foreign ministry said in a statement that it can't confirm that the hostage family has been freed, warning against ``premature'' information.
