Toronto Raptors Terrence Ross vaulted over a ball boy, passed the ball under his leg while airborne and did a one-hand dunk to win the Slam-Dunk contest at the National Basketball Association’s All-Star Game Weekend.
Ross got 58 percent of the vote from those viewing the televised contest last night. He beat defending champion Jeremy Evans of the Utah Jazz.
The NBA players are in Houston where they will meet today for the All-Star Game between the Eastern and Western conferences.
Cleveland point guard Kyrie Irving beat San Antonio’s Matt Bonner to win the 3-point contest with 23 baskets. Bonner had 20 points.
Each competitor had one minute to take 25 3-pointers from five positions on the court.
In the Shooting Stars competition, Miami Heat’s Chris Bosh, WNBA’s Swin Cash and Hall of Famer Dominque Wilkins beat Oklahoma City Thunder’s Russell Westbrook, Maya Moore of the WNBA and former Houston Rocket Robert Horry.
The teams had two minutes to make shots from six locations on the floor.
