European Coal for 2014 Advances the Most in Six Months

European coal for 2014 advanced the most in six months, heading for a third weekly increase.

Thermal coal for delivery to Amsterdam, Rotterdam or Antwerp gained as much as 1.5 percent to $101.10 a metric ton, according to broker data compiled by Bloomberg. That’s the biggest rise since Aug. 8. The contract traded at $100.60 at 11:24 a.m. Berlin time, putting this week’s gain at 0.3 percent.
