Mexico Auto Production Rose 19.8% in Jan., AMIA Says

Mexican production of cars and light trucks increased 19.8 percent in January from the year earlier, the country’s automobile industry association said.
Production totaled 242,855 automobiles, the group said today in a statement distributed in Mexico City. Vehicle exports climbed 14.2 percent to 178,562 over the same period.
Domestic sales of cars and light truck gained 12 percent to 84,267 from 75,297 units in the same month a year earlier, according to the statement from the trade group, known as AMIA.
