Taiwan Premier Sean Chen Resigns, Vice Premier to Succeed

Taiwanese Premier Sean Chen has resigned on health and family grounds, according to presidential spokesman Fan-Chiang Tai-chi.

Vice Premier Jiang Yi-Huah will be appointed to replace him following the Lunar New Year, Fan-Chiang said today. Chen will be named a senior adviser to the president, and Mao Chi-kuo, Minister of Transportation and Communications, will succeed Jiang as vice premier, he said.
