Brazil’s central government posted a primary surplus, excluding interest payments, of 28.3 billion reais in December, the Treasury said.
The central government’s surplus excluding interest payments comes after a 4.3 billion reais deficit in November, the Treasury said in a statement distributed in Brasilia today.
The median estimate from 8 analysts surveyed by Bloomberg was for a 21.6 billion reais surplus in December.
