France’s Gabart Wins Vendee Globe Round-the-World-Race in Record

French yachtsman Francois Gabart won the Vendee Globe solo round-the-world race after 78 days at sea, setting a world record.
Gabart, 29, crossed the finish line at Les Sables d’Olonne on the French Atlantic coast in his yacht MACIF at 15:18 p.m. local time today, according to LCI television channel.
