Brazilian Nightclub Fire Kills 40 and Injures 200, Folha Says

A nightclub fire in Brazil’s southern city of Santa Maria in the early hours of this morning left at least 40 people dead and 200 wounded, Folha de S.Paulo reported, citing information from the municipal government.
Firefighters cut a hole in the wall of the Kiss nightclub to help people to escape, the Sao Paulo-based newspaper said today. The blaze was under control by 5:30 a.m., according to the newspaper.
