Ukraine’s State Debt Grew 3% in December, Finance Ministry Says

Ukraine’s state debt, including guarantees, increased 3 percent last month as foreign debt rose, the Finance Ministry said.

Debt climbed to $64.61 billion from $62.7 billion in November, the Finance Ministry, based in the capital, Kiev, said today in a statement on its website.

State foreign debt rose to $26.12 billion from $26.05 billion, while domestic debt declined to $23.8 billion from $24.7 billion, according to the statement. Foreign debt guaranteed by the government jumped to $14.7 billion from $11.9 billion.
