Bolshoi ballet principal dancer Nikolai Tsiskaridze was questioned two days ago as a witness after an acid attack on the theater’s artistic director Sergei Filin, Moscow police said.

Investigators have also spoken with other employees of the Bolshoi Theater as well as Filin’s relatives and acquintances, Alexei Shapkin, a spokesman for the city’s police, said by phone today.

Filin, a former star dancer at the ballet company, was attacked with acid outside his home in the Russian capital on Jan. 17, an assault that police and colleagues said may be linked to his work.
