South Africa Richards Bay Coal Declines to Lowest in Two Months

Coal export prices at South Africa’s Richards Bay, the continent’s biggest terminal for shipping the fuel, declined to their lowest level in more than two months.

Coal for immediate delivery dropped $1.84, or 2.1 percent, in the week to Jan. 18 to $85.50 a metric ton, the lowest price since Nov. 9, according to IHS McCloskey data on Bloomberg.

The fuel is quoted on a free-on-board basis, which excludes delivery costs.
