Haldane Says Bankers’ Bonuses Should Be Deferred Up to 10 Years

Banks should defer bonuses for between five and 10 years, said Andrew Haldane, executive director for financial stability at the Bank of England.
The current “three-to-five-year window is far too short,” Haldane told lawmakers at a hearing of the Parliamentary Commission on Banking Standards in London today.
