Acciona Agua Awarded Saudi Wastewater Plant Contracts in Mecca

Acciona SA (ANA), which has built more than 70 desalination plants globally, said a subsidiary won a two-year operating and maintenance contract from Saudi Arabia’s state water utility for wastewater treatment plants between Jeddah and Mecca.

The wastewater treatment facilities’ combined daily capacity of 375,000 cubic meters is meant to serve the cities of Haddah and Arana, Alcobendas, Spain-based Acciona said in a web statement announcing that it and the Miahona joint venture were awarded the 14 million-euro ($19 million) contract.
