Manchester United Beats Liverpool 2-1; Manchester City Wins

Manchester United maintained its seven-point lead in English soccer’s Premier League with a 2-1 win against Liverpool, as second-place Manchester City defeated 10-man Arsenal 2-0.

Robin van Persie and Nemanja Vidic got the goals for United at its Old Trafford stadium, with halftime substitute Daniel Sturridge replying for Liverpool.

Arsenal played more than 80 minutes with 10 men after Laurent Koscielny was red-carded for bringing down Edin Dzeko in the penalty area. James Milner and Dzeko scored for City, which had defender Vincent Kompany dismissed after 75 minutes.
