Harper Announces C$250 Million Fund for Canada Auto Resea

Prime Minister Stephen Harper said the federal government will spend C$250 million ($254 million) over five years to support research and development by automakers based in Canada.

Harper said in a news release handed to reporters that the funding will be used to extend the Automotive Innovation Fund until 2018.
