Putin Invites Tax-Ducking Actor Depardieu to Russia

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed an order granting French actor Gerard Depardieu Russian citizenship, according to a statement posted on the Kremlin website today.

Depardieu is moving to Belgium to flee taxes imposed on the wealthy by Socialist President Francois Hollande. A spokeswoman for the actor declined to comment.
