Saudi Aramco Executive Dies During Field Visit, Al-Watan Says

Saudi Arabian Oil Co.’s Vice President for Exploration Abdullah al-Naim died yesterday while accompanying the kingdom’s Oil Minister on a visit to a drilling site in the northwest, Al-Watan newspaper reported.

Al-Naim died of natural causes at a field in the Haql area, 225 kilometers (140 miles) northwest of Tabuk city, the newspaper said, citing a statement from the company known as Saudi Aramco.

The group visiting petroleum and minerals sites in the Tabuk region included Oil Minister Ali al-Naimi and Khalid Al- Falih, chief executive officer of state-owned Saudi Aramco, according to the paper.

The visit was canceled after al-Naim’s death, it said. Al- Naim joined the company in 1978, according to his personal webpage on Linkedin website.
