U.K. weather forecasters predicted further rainstorms and flooding, mainly in south and southwest England, as hundreds of homes and business were hit by floods, the Press Association reported.
Heavy rain was reported in southwest England, falling on already-sodden ground, and moving slowly northwards, the news service said.
The Environment Agency maintained a severe flood alert for the town of Helston, in Cornwall, where the River Coben burst its banks and flooded hundreds of homes and businesses, the PA said.
The EA has 145 flood warnings in place, mainly in central England and the southwest.
