China Car Accident Kills 11 Children in Jiangxi, Radio Reports

A car accident in eastern China’s Jiangxi province killed 11 children, China National Radio reported today.

The van in which the children were riding fell into a pond this morning, the state broadcaster reported. Three children died at the scene, while another eight died after medical efforts failed, according to the report. A total of 16 people were riding in the van at the time of the accident, China National Radio reported.

A reason for why the van fell into the pond and ages for the children killed weren’t given. The official Xinhua News Agency earlier today reported that the van was carrying kindergarten children.
