Mexico’s Reserves Fell to $163 Billion Last Week

(Corrects headline to say reserves fell to $163 billion.)

Mexico’s international reserves fell to $163 billion in the week ended Dec. 14, the central bank reported today on its website.

Reserves registered a net decrease of $47 million, the bank said, after falling $27 million the previous week.

Mexico’s reserves have climbed 14 percent this year, while the peso has strengthened 9.6 percent against the dollar through yesterday, the most among 16 major currencies tracked by Bloomberg.
