AMSC Says China Court to Hold Additional Hearing in Sinovel Case

American Supeconductor Corp., a U.S. producer of wind-turbine components, said China’s Supreme People’s Court agreed to hold an additional hearing regarding its copyright infringement case against Sinovel Wind Group Co.

AMSC, based in Devens, Massachusetts, is pursuing multiple suits in China seeking more than $1.2 billion in damages from Sinovel. This case is seeking damages of $6 million, AMSC said today in a statement.

AMSC has accused Sinovel, once its largest customer, of violating sales contracts and stealing its technology.
