Spurs is tied on points with third-place Chelsea, 13 behind league leader Manchester United. Second-place Manchester City is six points behind its local rival United.
West Bromwich Albion can join Chelsea and Spurs on 29 points with a win against West Ham in today’s other game.
Yesterday, United defeated Sunderland 3-1, City won 3-1 at Newcastle, and Everton tied 1-1 at Stoke. Queens Park Rangers recorded its first win, 2-1 against Fulham, Norwich beat Wigan 2-1, while Aston Villa won 3-1 at Liverpool.
Tomorrow, last-place Reading hosts Arsenal.
