EPH to Buy $3.3 Billion Slovak Gas Stake From EON, GDF, Sme Says

Energeticky a Prumyslovy Holding AS will buy 49 percent of Slovensky Plynarensky Priemysel AS from EON SE and GDF Suez (GSZ) for about 2.5 billion euros ($3.3 billion), Sme reported, citing Daniel Kretinsky, one of EPH’s owners.

EPH, a Czech utility with assets at home, in Poland and Germany, is also bidding for Czech pipeline operator Net4Gas, owned by RWE AG (RWE), to gain control over the transit of Russian gas, the Sme daily said, citing Kretinsky.
