U.S. Options Trading Declines 2.6% to 335.5 Million, OIC Reports

U.S. options volume fell 2.6 percent in November from the same month in 2011 as 335.5 million contracts traded, the Options Industry Council said today.

About 3.69 billion contracts traded in the first eleven months of the year, the Chicago-based OIC said, a 13 percent decline from the same period in 2011. Average daily volume for the month was 16 million, down 2.6 percent from the previous November.
