Japan Targets Food-Rice Production at 7.91 Million Tons for 2013

Japan plans to produce 7.91 million metric tons of food-rice next year, compared with this year’s target of 7.93 million tons, according to the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.

Japan, the world’s largest corn importer, is self- sufficient in rice.
