Siemens South African Turbine Deal Pushes Orders to $1.1 Billion
The company will supply and service 60 turbines at the 138- megawatt Jeffrey’s Bay project in the Eastern Cape developed by Dublin-based Mainstream Renewable Power Ltd., Siemens said today in an e-mailed statement. Terms weren’t disclosed.
The Munich-based company has picked up 730 megawatts of orders including from the U.K., Denmark, Sweden, Turkey and Croatia since July. The total value of orders includes supply, installation and service of the turbines, Siemens said.
