Juventus Beats Chelsea in Champions League; Barcelona Advances

Juventus defeated Chelsea 3-0 to leave the titleholder on the verge of elimination from soccer’s Champions League.

Juventus moves above Chelsea into second place in Group E, one point behind Shakhtar Donetsk, which advanced to the knockout stage with a 5-2 win over Nordsjaelland.

One round of group matches remains to be played. The top two teams in each of the eight groups move into the round of 16 in Europe’s elite club competition.

Barcelona advanced from Group G with a 3-0 win over Spartak Moscow, while Bayern Munich and Valencia progressed from Group F after drawing 1-1.

Manchester United, which has already qualified, lost 1-0 at Galatasaray in Group H, and Cluj beat Braga 3-1. Benfica defeated Celtic 2-1 in Group G and Lille beat BATE Borisov 2-0 in Group F.
