Water Conference in Chicago to Discuss Infrastructure Financing

A water conference in Chicago this week is bringing together industry leaders and municipal executives to discuss infrastructure financing, public-private business model partnerships and how to pay for new pipes and sewage system upgrades following Hurricane Sandy.

Participants at the two-day American Water Summit sessions will include Jeff Sterba, chief executive officer of American Water Works Co., the U.S.’s largest publicly traded water and wastewater utility, project managers, state funding directors and Xylem Inc.’s Gretchen McClain. Her company provided more than 200 industrial and sump pumps to help aid in New York’s water removal and clean-up efforts after the superstorm.
