House Speaker John Boehner, Majority Leader Eric Cantor and Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan will be among a six-member Republican negotiating team for U.S. budget talks, said North Carolina Representative Patrick McHenry.
Also on the team will be Representatives Fred Upton and Dave Camp, both of Michigan, and Representative Kevin McCarthy of California, McHenry said after a private meeting today among House Republicans in Washington.
Boehner of Ohio is scheduled to join other congressional leaders in a budget negotiating session with President Barack Obama on Nov. 16.
Cantor is from Virginia and Ryan, the Republican vice presidential nominee this year, is from Wisconsin.
