France’s Trade Deficit Narrows to 5 Billion Euros in September

France’s trade deficit narrowed 4.3 percent to 5.03 billion euros ($6.4 billion) in September as both exports and imports fell.

Exports decreased 1.5 percent from August to 37.6 billion euros, while imports slipped 1.9 percent to 42.6 billion euros, the country’s customs said today in an e-mailed statement.

For the first nine months, the deficit narrowed 11.1 percent from the year-earlier period to 50.9 billion euros.

Airbus sold 22 planes for 2.1 billion euros in September, up from 17 planes for 1.6 billion euros a month earlier.
