Kuwait to Act Against Writer on Saudi, U.A.E. Article, KUNA Says

Kuwait’s Foreign Ministry said an article written by Mohammed Abdelkader al-Jassim on Saudi Arabia and the U.A.E. was offensive and harms brotherly ties between Kuwait and the two states, KUNA, the state-run news agency, reported yesterday.

Al-Jassim’s article was published yesterday on an electronic newspaper’s website, and the foreign ministry said it would be taking action, KUNA said.

The writer has been detained in the past and was most recently released in 2011.
