U.K. Shortlists Four Projects Bidding for $1.6 Billion CCS Funds

The U.K. government named four projects to a shortlist for 1 billion pounds ($1.6 billion) of funding for carbon capture and storage projects.

The Captain Clean Energy project led by Summit Power Group LLC, Petrofac Ltd. (PFC), National Grid Plc (NG/) and Siemens AG (SIE) made the list along with the Peterhead project managed by Royal Dutch Shell Plc (RDSA) and SSE Plc. (SSE) The another project named was White Rose, run by Drax Group Plc (DRX), BOC Group Ltd. and National Grid. A project on Teesside run by GDF Suez (GSZ) SA, Premier Oil Plc (PMO) and BOC also made the list.

The list was narrowed from eight bids that submitted proposals for the funding.
