Siemens is to install 22 of its 2.3-megawatt machines at the Balabanli onshore plant developed by a group including German utility EnBW Energie Baden-Wuerttemberg AG (EBK) and Turkey’s Borusan Holding AS near the city of Tekirdag, it said today in an e-mailed statement. The deal, for which Siemens gave no price, includes a 10-year service and maintenance agreement.
“The Turkish wind-energy market is attractive for Siemens and we expect further growth in the future,” Felix Ferlemann, who heads the wind-power unit at Siemens Energy, said in the statement. The wind plant will be able to supply 43,000 homes with clean power, Siemens said.
