Ukraine’s DTEK Starts Shipping Coal to Russian Power Plant

DTEK, Ukraine’s largest private coal and energy producer, signed a supply contract with OAO OGK-2 (OGKB), the Russian wholesale power generator controlled by OAO Gazprom.

DTEK started shipping low volatile coals to the Novocherkasskaya GRES plant on Oct. 6, the Kiev-based DTEK said in an e-mailed statement today. DTEK will supply about 120,000 tons of coal to Novocherkasskaya by the year-end.
