Christie’s New York Wine Auction Fetches Total of $1.5 Million

Christie’s International’s October wine auction in New York fetched a total $1.5 million, with 96 percent of lots sold by volume and 94 percent by value, the auction house said in an e-mailed statement.

The top sale was 11 bottles of Chateau Lafite-Rothschild 1982 which went to an Asian trade client for $33,880, including buyer’s premium. A European trade buyer paid $29,040 for four bottles of Romanee-Conti Domaine de la Romanee-Conti 1969 Burgundy, Christie’s said.
