Tottenham Chases German

Tottenham Hotspur may race Inter Milan to sign German midfielder Patrick Hermann, the Sun reported.

Hermann, who has been valued at 7.5 million pounds ($12 million), has scored ten goals in 56 games for Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach.

Solksjaer Bolton-Bound?

Former Manchester United player Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may be in the running to become Bolton’s new manager, the Daily Mail reported.

Speculation mounted after the Norwegian pulled out of a speaking engagement yesterday at the Leaders in Football conference in London while Bolton chairman Phil Gartside was also in town on the same day, the newspaper said.

Former Ireland manager Mick McCarthy, former Nottingham Forest boss Billy Davies, ex-Manchester United player Roy Keane and Portsmouth boss Michael Appleton are also in contention for the job, the Mail said.

Cleverley’s Pay Day?

Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley has started the season so well, the team may double his 40,000-pound-a-week salary, the Daily Mirror reported.

Cleverley, 23, scored his first Premier League goal last weekend during United’s 3-0 victory against Newcastle.

Popular Teenager

John Stones, an 18-year-old right-back at Barnsley, has sparked the interest of Everton, Manchester City and Chelsea, the Sun reported.
